Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU

Blocked Scheduling approved Selling Points for unit: Rural sole community provider hospital. 5 Bed ICU, on site hospitalist/ER practitioner 24/7. Hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac/vasoactive gtts, vents. Comments: Only 2 other nurses at night. Any higher level nursey get transferred to Wilson or BGH Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: CHF, COPD, PNA, Sepsis, Complications of surgery, DKA, Medical Management of MI # of Beds: 5 Nurse to Patient Ratio: 3 to 1 with NA assistance Charting: EPIC Scrub Color: Any Areas of Float Support: possible float to MSG (infrequent) Special Procedures: Chest tubes, central lines, thoracentesis, hemodynamic lines Common Medications used on the unit? Amiodarone, Cardiizem, Nitro, Neosynepherine, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Epinepherine, IV Opiates/Sedatives (Precedex, Propofol), Ativan, Insulin gtts Is Vasoactive Drip Titration Required? Yes Medication Dispensing System Used? PYXIS

Required Qualifications

NY License in hand BLS, ACLS and PALS Blocked Scheduling approved IV Insertion PICC/Central Line Management Vascular Device Access/Care CVP Obtain 12 Lead EKG Remote Tele Tele Interpretation Cardioversion/Defibrillation Procedural Sedation CPAP/BiPAP Ventilators Trach Care Traction Epidural/PCA pumps Feeding Tubes Wound Vac
