Unit Details: Open Heart ICU unit, Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit
CSU Unit will float to ICU/CCU/ICSU/Tele
Total # of beds in the unit: 32.
-May not take Open Heart patients right away, Rn's needs to establish Trust
-Nurse to patient ratios 1:1, 1:2 or 2:1 for all shifts.
-No Ancillary Staff.
-Patient’s age: Mixed Adults. Staff works in 12 hour shifts.
-Unit patient population: Pre and post op area for cardiac surgery.
-Special Procedure: IABP, Ventilator,Pacemakers, Multi-drips, Hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT.
-Ethical Issues Procedures: Blood products/transfusions, withdrawing life support
-Scrubs can be any color, RN provides their own scrubs.
