Job Description & Requirements

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Unit Size: 29 beds Ratios: 1:4-5 acuity dependent. Patient Population: Ortho, Neuro and Telemetry patients. Lines/Drains/Devices: Wounds vacs, PICC lines, Central lines. Airway: BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, Nasal cannulas. Drips: Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin. Typically non-titratable drips on MS/Tele units. Ancillary Staff: 1-2 support staff on per shift depending on census and availability. Phlebotomy available for lab draws. Scheduling: Every other weekend and holiday. Scrubs: Navy blue scrubs. Other: Nurses are required to read/verify telemetry strips once a shift in EPIC.
